Yifei Ye began his career in single-seater racing at the age of 15 and went on to win titles in French Formula 4 and Euroformula Open. In 2021, he made a switch to endurance racing and immediately found success, claiming both the Asian and European Le Mans Series titles as the first driver to do so in the same year, while also coming close to winning the LMP2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Two years later, he became Ferrari’s first factory driver from China, representing the Italian manufacturer in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar class. His victory at the Circuit of the Americas in 2024 made him the youngest-ever overall race winner in FIA WEC history. However, his greatest success to date came last year, when he claimed victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, becoming the first Chinese driver to win the iconic endurance race.
“Safety and sustainability are essential – both on and off the track. I am proud to join the FIA’s Smart Driving Challenge ambassador programme, and help road users make a difference wherever they drive, travel, or commute.”
